The further I got into my nursing career, the more I found myself wanting to make a bigger impact in patients' lives and our current healthcare system. Shortly into my career as an ED nurse, I realized the best way to make an impact would be through primary care. I am excited to be given the opportunity to practice preventative medicine to keep patients out of the hospital, and through a shared-decision approach, aid patients in the journey to optimum health status. I chose the family nurse practitioner route because I enjoy caring for patients across the life spectrum.
