About Bryan Fritzler

Dr. Fritzler grew up in Kansas and received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas. He moved to Maine in 1991, and he received his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maine in 1996. His pre-doctoral internship was at the Boston V.A., with rotations in Medical Psychology, Substance Abuse, and Outpatient Psychotherapy. He spent the next eight years working in brain injury rehabilitation, during which time he took two courses (Neuroanatomy and Neuropathology) that were designed for psychologists, at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In 2004, he began working at Northern Light Acadia Hospital, which included doing Pre-Bariatric Surgery Psychological Evaluations. In 2008, he moved to doing those evaluations in Behavioral Medicine at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC), where he also provides evaluations and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for patients with medical conditions. This includes patients with multiple sclerosis (via Northern Light EMMC’s Multiple Sclerosis Clinic) and other neurological conditions; patients with obesity/weight issues (via EMMC’s Surgical Weight Loss Program and the Medical Weight Management Program); and patients with chronic pain (including evaluations for spinal cord stimulator trials). He feels honored to work with individuals as they learn to better cope with their medical conditions.

When not at work, he enjoys being with his family, traveling to beautiful places, relaxing, watching sports (Red Sox, Patriots, and especially University of Kansas basketball), cooking, hiking, and taking his Golden Retriever for walks.
