About Eric Hoffman

Dr. Hoffman became an orthopedic surgeon because he enjoys helping people and the technical aspects of orthopedic surgery. He has practice orthopedic medicine for 27 years, focusing on minimally invasive surgical treatments of the shoulder and knee.  He went to Duke Medical School and underwent his internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He has affiliations with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Maine Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, Piedmont Orthopedic Society, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He serves as the Falmouth High School Team Physician, and has taught in the Maine Medical Sports Fellowship Program, winning teacher of the year in 2011. Dr. Hoffman was born in Washington and now lives in Falmouth with his wife and three children. He enjoys mountain biking, skiing, kite boarding, kayaking, and most of all, family time.
