Jennifer Gilbert, CNM

Jen grew up in the greater Portland area and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing through Husson University in Bangor. After working for eight years as a labor and delivery nurse at Northern Light Mercy Hospital, Jen decided to pursue her dream to become a certified nurse midwife. She earned her certification in midwifery as well as a Master of Science with a concentration in midwifery through Philadelphia University in 2005, and has been practicing at Back Cove Midwives since 2007. Jen is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. \n\n Along with her commitment to women’s health and low-risk births, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. During the Maine summer months, you will frequently see Jen and her family at Point Sebago where her family keeps an annual site.
