Joanna Wawrzycki, MD

JoAnna Wawrzycki, MD, is originally from New York and attended Stony Brook University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester and practiced in Rutland, Vermont for three years before finding her home in Maine and starting at Mercy in 2015.

She has always prioritized spending time with her patients to fully hear their stories and guide them through changes or concerns with their health, from normal and complicated pregnancies to hormonal transitions at adolescence and menopause. Surgically, she has experience with minimally invasive/laparoscopic procedures to help decrease recovery time and post-operative pain.

Dr. Wawrzycki enjoys spending time on the coast with her husband, who is a Gastroenterologist, and her five children. When she is not in the cheering section of their basketball/soccer games or music performances; she enjoys surfing, snowboarding, concerts, and pedaling out stress on her Peloton.
