Katie Swanson, NP

I was born and raised in Maine and completed my education in the Bangor area. Upon graduation from nursing school, I worked as an RN caring for patients with cardiac conditions. In that role, I enjoyed educating patients before and after cardiac procedures to include heart catheterizations, ablations, cardioversions, pacemaker implantations, coronary artery bypass grafts, and TAVRs. After working there a short time, I realized that caring for cardiac patients was what I wanted to do with my career so I continued my education. After three years, I graduated with my master's degree as an acute care nurse practitioner. Providing effective interventions, comprehensive patient education and then watching patients improve is my favorite aspect of the job.
