About Maxine Miller
As a robotically trained colorectal surgeon, Dr. Miller uses minimally invasive techniques to treat colon, rectal, and anal cancers, as well as benign abdominal colorectal diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis; complex anorectal disorders; and pelvic floor dysfunction.
After receiving her medical education at Saba University School of Medicine in Massachusetts, Dr. Miller earned a residency and internship in general surgery, as well a fellowship in colorectal surgery from Louisiana State University, New Orleans. Dr. Miller is certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and in Colon and Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Miller sits on the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. As a physician quality leader, she helps monitor accountability and quality improvement measures in cancer programs.
Dr. Miller works closely with primary care providers to help find solutions for patients’ health concerns. She explains, “I try to connect with patients to understand what is going on in their lives and how their disorder is affecting them and their family. I want my patients to know that I will walk the path with them, whatever their treatment plan, to help them feel better and get where they want to be in life.”
