About Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen, MD is a board certified neurosurgeon who practices general neurosurgery including brain and spine disorders. Dr. Cohen also specializes in complex cranial surgery including brain tumors, skull base tumors, open vascular surgery of the brain for aneurysms, and AVMs. He also has an interest in minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Cohen obtained his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Rutgers in New Jersey. He then went to medical school at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed neurosurgery residency at Rutgers followed by an additional year of fellowship in skull base and cerebro vascular neurosurgery at the University of Utah.

Dr. Cohen has numerous peer-reviewed publications in the medical literature and has written multiple book chapters in neurosurgery textbooks. Dr. Cohen is a member of multiple neurosurgical societies and is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons (FAANS) and member of the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons (CNS).

In his spare time, Dr. Cohen enjoys downhill skiing, sailing on the beautiful Pennobscot bay, traveling, and spending time with his family.
