About Rebekah Gass
Dr Gass is an infectious disease specialist with over 25 years of experience. After finishing an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Toronto followed by a General Medicine fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University, she completed a three year fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver Colorado. During her Infectious Disease fellowship she concentrated on both the clinical care of persons living with HIV and research into the evolution of drug resistance in HIV infection. After practicing in Denver for 11 years she moved to Bangor in 2008 to return to the east coast.
Although enthusiastic about all aspects of infectious disease her concentrated interests are the long term care of persons living with HIV, complex orthopedic infection, and antimicrobial stewardship. She is the physician lead for the Infectious Disease Care and the Co-director of the antimicrobial stewardship program at NLEMMC. Her true passion is to provide quality health care to her community in Maine.
