About Sheri Norwood
Sheri is a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP), and has been in practice for 20 years. She was born and raised in the Bangor area and graduated from a local high school. Sheri received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1996 from the University of Maine, and was a labor and delivery nurse at Nothern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for six years. In 2002, she received her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Maine and started her advanced practice career at a local OB/GYN office in Bangor. Sheri worked there for 15 years providing services to women across the life span. She changed her direction in 2015 and worked with a local plastic surgeon. This opportunity broadened her knowledge base and Sheri also became a first assist in the operating room. Being present for her patient’s surgery is very rewarding and she believes helps her provide full spectrum care. Sheri came back to her true passion, women’s health, in 2018.
Sheri and her husband have been married for 26 years. They have a college-aged son; and she enjoys spending her time and energy with them. Sheri loves the outdoors, hiking, walking, kayaking, and paddle boarding. She practices yoga and meditation and believes that finding the balance between natural remedies and traditional medicine is where true health and wellness is found.
