Wesley Fairfield, MD

Dr. Fairfield received his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Fairfield has been practicing endocrinology in Maine for 16 years and provides compassionate, comprehensive, collaborative care based on shared medical decision making. Areas of focus include:

• Patients with general endocrinologic disorders (excluding diabetes mellitus) with particular expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders including thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy.
• Ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsies, Dr. Fiarfield is certified in neck ultrasound through the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) Program by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
• The evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, hyperparathyroidism, metabolic bone disorders, male hypogonadism, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
• At Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Fairfield completed neuroendocrinology subspecialty training, and routinely evaluates and manages pituitary disorders including non-functioning adenomas, prolactinomas, acromegaly, Cushing's disease, growth hormone deficiency, diabetes insipidus, SIADH, Rathke's cleft cysts and other sellar masses such as craniopharyngiomas
